A pit bull named Doro guards an abandoned building. Chained all his life, he never left his post. Being a guard dog, nobody gave him any attention. Until one day, an animal rescue unit saved and took him with them.
A new place for Doro
At first, Doro looked intimidated and scared as he found himself in his new surroundings. He spent his time alone and wary of anyone near him. Nobody ever looked after Doro before.
But now, he received a warm bed, good food, and kind words with the growing frequency of pats, rubs, and hugs. He never felt cared for and loved like this before.
Now that he felt safe and secure, he can’t help but show his gratitude to the rescuers. One day during his daily walking exercise, one of the staff who took care of him came out of the shelter. He ran to her and tried to crawl up to her, pressed his body on her, and hugged her.
Since then, he crawls to any rescuer or staff in the animal shelter and gives them hugs. Soon, he shares his notorious hugs with anybody he meets. When he walks around the neighborhood, he would gladly provide hugs to anybody along the way. Doro was one friendly dog who likes to express his happiness.
Waiting for somebody to give Doro a new home
But as a middle-aged dog, nobody has shown interest in adopting Doro yet. Most people coming to the dog center looked for puppies. Even though Doro was adorable, he quickly gets bypassed for a younger dog.
Being in the animal shelter for over a year, Doro still hasn’t lost his spirit and enthusiasm. He still loves to give hugs to everybody. The story of Doro began circulating on social media and gained a lot of views. The animal shelter is optimistic that Doro’s story will reach someone who is a good match for Doro and takes him home someday.
