Dogs always love to share everything with their owners that’s why they eventually learn and enjoy the activities their owners often do. But there are also dogs that already like what we do and fit right in. And that’s exactly what happened to Birks with his new family of musicians.
Birks was first found tired and hungry walking on the streets of Busan, South Korea. The woman who found him took him in, fed him, and fixed him up. Once he was in better shape, he was sent to New York City through the non-profit organization doing rescues to prevent dogs from being traded for meat or going into puppy mills called the Korean K9 Rescue. That was when Birks met a musician couple.
The couple decided to adopt Birks when they saw the video of him singing along to a clarinet. They just thought he would fit right in with them and their music-filled home. Having a dog that appreciates the craft they do was just an amazing experience for the couple.
When they got Birks home for the first time, they played an album for him and he just jammed right along to it. He’s very reactive and attentive to music. Whenever he hears an instrument getting played or a song being sung, he would nod his head along, his ear would prop up, and he would sing along.
Birks’ receptive attitude towards music made it easier for him and his parents to bond. He was always prepared to go along with the melody, whether it was musical instruments his dad plays or his mom’s vocalization. Though sometimes things can get a little hectic with Birks trying to outshine his mom’s singing.
The couple is just so happy to have Birks in their lives. He still acts like a baby around them and he is always affectionate and a little clingy with a dash of melody.
