When rescuers found Mingliang, it was difficult to imagine that he once was a happy pooch. He looked like he had lived in misery his whole life. His body was hairless, full of wounds, and swollen. He was also stinky and couldn’t walk properly. But according to the residents in the area where he was found, he wasn’t like that when his owners abandoned him.
The 10-year-old corgi had a family before and a house to live in. Nobody knows why he was dumped in the streets. This is because nobody bothered to take care of him. As the days passed, he became hungry and started suffering from various skin conditions.
The lack of nutrition and medical care accelerated the deterioration of his health. He was suffering every day.
Thankfully, that all ended when dog rescuers spotted him and mounted a rescue.
Misery
Like many stray dogs, Mingliang feared humans. When the rescuers tried to get near him, he worked hard to escape. But in his weakened condition, he was no match for the people trying to save him from his misery. He was soon snagged and placed inside a cage.
He was brought to a clinic where vets thoroughly checked on him doing multiple tests. When they figured out his health problems, they gave him a treatment plan and various medications. They then set him up with a comfortable place where he can rest and recover.
For the first few days, Mingliang only ate and slept. He was visibly famished and exhausted. Despite the kindness being shown to him by the medical staff, he seemed to still be wary about humans. He prefers staying by himself, often facing the wall.
He still doesn’t realize that he is out of danger.
Rest of his life
After months of staying in the clinic, he was well enough to be released.
A foster took Mingliang home and there he continued his therapy. He goes to a spa every week and does various sessions like walking on a treadmill in water. Slowly, he is also emerging from his fear of people. His body is also covered with a beautiful coat of hair.
When Mingliang is ready, he will be put up for adoption. Hopefully, this will be the last family that he will stay with for the rest of his life.
