Imagine a huge Bullmastiff running at you at full speed, then knocking you down to give lots of kisses and cuddles. That’s exactly what happened to a returning soldier named Jason Floyd, from Greenville, Rhode Island.
Dog owners know that once you’ve been away from home for quite some time, your dog is the one who will always welcome you with the best homecoming. It is true that nobody will miss us the way dogs do.
No matter how long we’ve been gone – be it an hour, a month, or a year – our dogs will always greet us with the same excitement and pure unconditional love. And this video is a perfect example.
Jaxson is a large Bullmastiff, and despite being big, he is still a gentle dog with a heart of gold. Overall, he is a very precious and playful dog especially towards his human best bud, Jason. However, Jason is a US soldier and needs to leave for the Army basic training.
During the times that Jason is away, it is obvious that Jaxson is sad and miserable.
Lisa Floyd, their mother, had seen the effects of Jason’s absence on the dog. So she had to come up with some solution to lessen the furry boy’s misery. She shares that she puts Jason’s t-shirts on their pillows so Jaxson can feel some semblance of closeness to Jason, despite being away for so long.
During that time, 19-year-old Jason was away for an entire 14 months. Although it was difficult, Jaxson slowly began to learn to live his doggie life without his best pal around.
Fortunately, the training finally ended. The sad dog did not know that he was in for a wonderful surprise. Finally, Jason came back home from his basic training.
The moment that Jason appeared, the adorable Jaxson could not control his emotions. As soon as he saw his army brother, he ran towards Jason and lovingly attacked him with kisses and hugs as if he was welcoming home his best friend.
Here’s the video of their mini-reunion.
